    The stock is overpriced.

    d) Very ordinary service. Might be just me, but a smile would have been nice after I've just handed over $70 for two Orchid stems (which were the only flowers in the shop worthy of consideration.)

    Don't buy from Samambaia Flowers.

As a customer, I felt very belittled. Where was the customer service?

I had high hopes when they first opened in Bronte a couple of years ago, but it didn't take them long to establish a reputation for:

Then, three weeks ago I had to buy flowers for a friend's birthday and wanted something a bit fancy, so decided to bite the bullet and try Samambaia. Well, now that I've experienced them first hand, I can add a 4th item to the list:

    c) Not being all that committed as they are closed for weeks at a time.

    b) Having a limited selection.

    The service is bad.

They said, "Oh sorry. Yes we sold 2 other bunches and they were dead too. Must have been a bad batch from the markets. Bring back the flowers."
  • David
    Added 2015.03.30
The flowers are of poor quality.

They do not deserve any star ratings as one expects value for money but I could not post this online, unless I clicked one star. This type of service, or lack thereof, leaves a very bad taste. Buying a bunch of flowers for a birthday present should be a happy experience.

Absolutely beautiful florist. Maria is incredible to work with and an absolute professional. The shop is just gorgeous.

Rather than making a lovely arrangement to replace it, they were more concerned that I didn't go over what had been paid for the bunch.

    Do not purchase from them.

Imagine if I had bought these online- I would have thrown away $50 on dead flowers.

Had a wonderful experience in the shop. I left with flowers that were beyond my expectation. Knowledgeable staff. Would recommend and return.

So, I continued to buy flowers from the greengrocer across the road - their range is not great either, but at least you don't pay a King's ransom.

Had the worst experience at this florist. My boyfriend's mother bought him a bunch of flowers for $50 and when I went over to see them the next day, half of them were drooping, brown and dead. The florist was down the road so I went into their shop to tell them about it and showed them a picture of the flowers.

Anyway, lesson learnt. Next time I need special flowers, I won't leave things to the last minute and will go to a tried-and-tested florist like Pearson's in Bondi Junction.

I took the flowers back and asked them to replace the flowers but instead of being helpful, they kept saying..."you can't spend more than $50 worth- oh, that one costs $35/stem, so you can only get something small to go with it etc."

Disgustingly expensive - $70 for three flowers and some greenery. (Literally) I complained and was provided an average explanation including that the green foliage itself cost $25.
